Bestseller Day April 10th
I’m sure you all realize how hard it is to succeed in small business these days especially with a little seasonal store like Celtic Rainbow, but it’s kindred spirits like you that keeps me going. This year I’ve decided to discontinue books, CD’s & DVD’s as I can no longer compete with ITunes and Amazon. I really hate to do it but that's life these days!
Over the years I’ve held events and concerts on my little deck at Celtic Rainbow. On two occasions we held book signings for local author Mary Duncan. If you like historic fictions, you’ll love this Scottish series, The Eyes of Garnet Trilogy. I started the series over the winter and I highly recommend it, I can’t wait to read the last book in the series, which was just released. I’ll let Mary tell you about how you can help her make the best seller list.
“I'm asking for your help in making Double Vision, the last book in the Eyes of Garnet trilogy, a bestseller on Barnes and Noble.com and Amazon.com. This strategy is a marketing tool that I've been researching and here's how it works. On April 10th, everyone purchases Double Vision, thus catapulting it into the number one category on one (or both) of those sites. How, you ask?
Each of those sites goes by sales rankings. Many people who shop those sites search for bestsellers, because that's all they buy. I've spoken about this before. Yes, they're missing out on a lot of great reading! So, if the sales of my book can reach into the bestseller rank, then even more people will buy it, creating its own little media frenzy. It will also make the sales of Eyes of Garnet and Sightless go up because many people want to begin a trilogy at the beginning. Clever stuff, don't you agree? D ouble Vision is retailing for $18.95, but I'm certain it'll be less online. So remember, purchase Double Vision anytime April 10th and let's see if we can't make it go to the top!” Thanks for your help, Mary.

Eyes of Garnet is a historical fiction with a paranormal twist, set in 18th century Scotland about a young girl—Cat, as they all call her—trying to find her way with Second Sight. While learning about her gift and the craft of herbology with a very ancient mentor, she is given a new name: Garnet, which stands for courageous, fiery, independent and determined. As Garnet begins seeing the death of her family and clansmen in a war with the Hanoverian English, she tries everything in her power to keep her father and brothers from the pyres of the dead at Culloden.
Sightless: In this rich tale that began with Eyes of Garnet, Mary Duncan continues the saga of Catrìona Robertson, which began in the windswept mountains of the Scottish Highlands and takes us on a voyage to the rugged coast of 18th century Maine in this exciting historical novel of adventure, magic and romance.
